Well-established drug trafficking networks move cannabis within Togo and through the country's porous borders.
While some cannabis is cultivated in Togo, it is also trafficked into the country over the border from Ghana, a major cultivator.

Possession and cultivation of small quantities are punishable with lesser penalties. The penalty for cultivation and production of cannabis oil is 2 months to 1 year; 6 months for any other plant derivative and/or a fine.
Treatment is alternatively offered instead of prison.
